Sascha N. Rand is a nationally recognized commercial litigator with a proven track record of securing exceptional results across a broad range of complex, high-stakes matters involving financial institutions and instruments, bankruptcy, antitrust, fintech and crypto, gas and energy, and hedge fund-related litigation. An experienced first-chair trial lawyer, Mr. Rand is Chair of Quinn Emanuel’s Financial Institution Litigation and Trial Practice. Mr. Rand, who most recently served as Special Counsel to John Ray and the FTX Debtors and Litigation Counsel to the FTX Recovery Trust, has been responsible for numerous multi-billion dollar litigation actions and recoveries on behalf of debtors, trustees, creditors, funds, class action litigants, and private litigants against banking institutions, financial institutions, private equity funds, auditors, and other professionals in numerous high-profile antitrust, restructuring, and complex commercial matters. Among other things, Mr. Rand played a leading role in the Enron, Parmalat, Refco, Lehman Brothers, Caesars, and FTX bankruptcies and recovery actions while at the same time serving as Court-appointed co-lead counsel in an array of precedent-setting antitrust cases including the In re Credit Default Swaps antitrust case (resulting in an antitrust class action settlement of $1.87 billion) and the In re Stock Lending antitrust case.

Notable Representations
Serving as Special Counsel to the FTX Debtors and Litigation Counsel to the FTX Recovery Trust.
Secured a $1.84 billion settlement for client Ambac Assurance against Countrywide and Bank of America after five weeks of trial in New York Supreme Court.
Successfully represented Snow Phipps in one of the few COVID-related material adverse event claims to go to trial in the Delaware Chancery Court, securing a trial ruling resolving all issues in Snow Phipps’ favor and ordering the Defendants, Kohlberg & Company, to close its $550 million acquisition of DecoPac, Inc.
Serving as one of the Court-appointed Lead Counsel in In re Stock Lending Antitrust Litigation, representing proposed classes of investors in stock lending transactions alleging that the major dealer banks conspired to prevent the development of competition in this market causing billions in damages.
